- Darken Rahl enters the Midlands through the boundary and rapes a woman. Unknown to him, this was the daughter of Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander and she became pregnant through the encounter.
- First Wizard Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander takes his daughter and exiles himself to Westland.
- Zedd's daughter marries George Cypher and gives birth to a baby boy, Richard, who George raises as his own.
