Alric Rahl was one of the earliest known members of the House of Rahl, having lived during the times of the Great War. He served as Lord Rahl at that time and created the Bond with the help of Merritt that all the people of D'Hara shared, protecting them from the dream walkers. When he announced the bond to the other wizards they all believed he only wanted power. They refused to listen to him and be bonded, losing protection from the Dream Walkers. He also created the Gars to fight the threat of the Mriswith.
