The Hartland Woods was the general name for the wooded areas in the vicinity of Hartland in Westland. Richard Cypher grew up here, and met Kahlan Amnell near the border there before setting off as the Seeker of Truth to defeat Darken Rahl. Eventually, Richard returned to the Upper Ven to hide and care for Kahlan while she healed from serious injuries during the Imperial Order War.
