The Mountain Fever Rose is a flower with petals shaped like a Grace. It can heal in small amounts when added with certain other herbs or oils. Taking one of the Mountain Fever Roses can cause a painful fever that saps the victim of their strength. If many are taken at once, the Rose is fatal. The sorceress Althea, upon realizing that one of the ungifted offspring of Darken Rahl was coming for her, brewed tea with nothing but the Mountain Fever Roses. She succeeded in fatally poisoning herself before the pristinely ungifted Oba Rahl could torture her. Sebastian also poisoned himself by this means.
