Philip was the husband of Abby and father of Jana. He originally came from Lynford.
He was selected to be Abby's husband by Abby's parents. Though his first appearance to her was this of a grim man. Abby described him as a hardworking man who looked out at life through a great grin. She could depend on him and loved him by the time Jana was born.
He was held captive by the D'Haran troops together with his daughter and father-in-law. They could flee together when the D'Haran troops fled before Zedd, when he was erecting the boundary.
