The plague was a terrible sickness that killed thousands of people when it was unleashed upon the world by Sister Amelia, under orders of Emperor Jagang, in Temple of the Winds. Amelia achieved this with the use of a special book she retrieved from within the Temple of the Winds. The plague was ended when Richard Rahl fulfilled the criteria set down by the spirits of the Underworld.
