Red is a witch woman who lives in the Dark Lands of D'Hara. She posed as an Oracle of the straw people. She was known as Red because she had made the valley red with the blood of people who needed killing. She helped Kahlan and Nicci revive Richard from the underworld. She later gave Nicci and Nathan a quest to travel to Kol Adair deep in the Old World.
