Mistress Sanderholt was the head cook at the Confessors' Palace, and watched Kahlan grow up. During Stone Of Tears her fingernails were forcibly removed in an attempt to make her betray Kahlan to the Central Council of the Midlands. She later told Richard what Kahlan was like as a child, before being attacked by Mriswith.
