Stein was a man with a thick mat of dark hair, in tangled stringy strands, which hung to his shoulders. His clothes were dark, covered in leather plates and straps and belts. He wore a cape made of scalps of the gifted. Its colors ranged from blond to black.

Soul of the Fire[]
Stein was an Imperial Order emissary sent to Anderith to persuade them to join the Order. He participated in the rape of Beata and helped Serin Rajak kill Franca Gowenlock, after which he stole her scalp. After one of Stein's troops delivered the Sword of Truth to him, he went to taunt Dalton Campbell about having his wife. Dalton killed him for this, and for what he had done to his friend, Franca.
