Emperor Sulachan was the wizard who led the forces of the Old World during the Great War 3,000 years ago. He was a sickly person when he was alive and had occult abilities. His objective was to combine the world of life and the world of the dead at the same place at the same time as a Third Kingdom and rule it for eternity.
Sulachan is resurrected with Richard Rahl's blood. He created the half people and has the ability to raise and control the dead. Having been introduced in The Third Kingdom, he remains the master-antagonist throughout this book and its sequels, before he is finally destroyed in Warheart.
