Renovation[]

I basically completely renovated this enitre article, so as to match the format of the other characters articles.

"Jagang uses his ability as a dream walker to crawl into people's mind and make them do what he wants. By doing this, he had conquered the entirety of the Old World. He then set his sights on the New World after the boundry seperating the worlds was dropped.

In his conquests, Jagang has used his ability as a dream walker to take command over Sisters of the Dark, who have many times proved their worth due to their command over Subtractive Magic.

Jagang has come to hate the Mother Confessor, Kahlan Amnell and the Lord Rahl and Seeker of the Truth, Richard Rahl, as they stand between him and the New World. He has several times attempted to kill both and failed every time.

It was thanks to Jagang that the Temple of the Winds was summoned just before the events in the book, Temple of the Winds."

I mixed and matched this part of the article, changing much of it into the Earlier Life section, as well as leaving other bits out to be added in greater detail in the Jagang's Role section, later.--Markrox91 09:05, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Power and Abilities

Jagang was a Dream Walker, an old race of creatures that were used during the Great War. Dream walkers were believed to be extinct, but Jagang was the last of the Dream Walkers born three thousands years after his race's demise. He used a gifted person's powers to take control of their body and mind, bending them to his will. This is how Jagang began a quest for knowledge above all else. It is also how Nicci would know to torment Jagang during the civil war in Jagang's home city; killing all the soldiers would not give him any messengers or news if the city was recaptured thus infuriating Jagang from the lack of the recent news about the Old World. When Jagang took over someone's mind he also experienced all the knowledge and memories that person had, thus giving him all the information in the person's mind. This opened Jagang's eyes to the outside world and taught him everything he needed to know.

This whole last part needs to be revised. Its wording is poor, and it has errors. For example:Dream walkers were created in the great war. They became a "race", in a similar way to Confessors, after that. He was not the "last" either, he was caused to be born by the traitors during the great war (via the temple of the winds), and countered by Baracas causing a war wizard to be born.

It is never said that he used the gifted persons power to to take control of them, only that it was easier to control the mind of a gifted. For if you recall, he can also take control of a non-gifted person's mind(FotF and Confessor).

Also, his quest was to enlighten the world with the teaches of the Order, not knowledge. He sought knowledge to aid in this effort, but not "above all else".

And that crap about Nicci is wrong, and the correct information is not even relevant to this section. The killing of the soldiers was to keep them from retaking Altur'Rang, and to prevent news of the city's real situation; a logical course of action in this world, no supernatural motives were needed.

And the last sentence is way too over dramatic and has no real substance.
